IB English Tutoring

Tutoring in English requires sustained practice in essential skills. Each week, our sessions will include opportunities to practice how to understand a range of texts, to analyze the effects of an author’s choices, to provide greater focus and organization to thinking and writing, and to write effectively. With one-on-one guidance, you will develop a set of approaches that can be applied in each of the high stakes assessment tasks in IB English. This includes practice for Paper 1 and Paper 2 exams, the Individual Oral, and the HL Essay. 

 

Sessions will also allow you to develop a stronger grasp of the IB’s approach to the study of Language and Literature. Unlocking understanding requires examining the nature of Areas of Exploration, Concepts, and the Learner’s Portfolio. Practical advice about the best ways to use these course elements will allow you produce your best work.
